The last stop is the Lighthouse – Cape San Juan Light House –  built in 1882 it is located on the highest point of the Reserve. You will be taken into a darkened room where you will get to hold bioluminescent dinoflagellates in your hand as they glow blue in the dark. The dinoflagellates, or phytoplankton, which are in the The Lighthouse at Las Cabesas Nature Reserve Fajardo Puerto Riconearby bio bay, glow when subjected to vibration. They sense they are being pushed and pulled and respond by producing light in response to stress.
